Funding Private Treatment

I’m Lizzi, owner of Violet Ivy Jewellery. Since 2019 I have lived with metastatic breast cancer. I have three beautiful children: Ivy, 13; Teddy, 7; and Violet, 6.

Living with metastatic breast cancer has reshaped everything. It has taught me to value the small, steady things, like Violet Ivy Jewellery. A little job to keep me busy. It was never something to make me a millionaire, just pay the bills and never ending kids clubs!

It keeps me busy, but not too stressed because cancer does enough of that.

Some days the to-do list is a welcome distraction, small, steady tasks that reward me with a sense of ordinary accomplishment. Folding laundry, replying to messages, organising the little jewellery I wear when I feel like myself. These acts are quiet anchors. They remind me there is still a life that isn’t defined by scans and appointments.

A BIG FAT HOWEVER

I’ve reached the point where NHS treatment options have been exhausted and any further care will need to be privately funded. There is a drug recommended for my condition that costs in excess of £8,000 per month — an amount we simply cannot cover ourselves.

If you are able and willing to help, here are the practical ways you can support:

  • Donate: Monetary contributions will go directly towards treatment costs, travel for specialist appointments, and any related medical expenses. If you would like to help, please contact me privately for details on how to contribute.

  • Share: Please share this message with friends, family, local groups, workplace networks, and on social media. Wider reach greatly increases the chance of finding supporters and organisations that may be able to help.

  • Fundraise or organise events: If you’d like to organise a collection, bake sale, sponsored event, or online fundraiser on my behalf, I can provide information and materials to support your efforts.

  • Help research funding options: If you have experience or contacts with charitable trusts, medical grants, patient access programmes, compassionate use schemes, any guidance or introductions would be hugely appreciated.

What I can promise:

  • Full transparency: I will keep contributors updated about progress, how funds are used, and treatment outcomes.

  • Gratitude: Every offer of help matters. I will acknowledge contributions and support in a way that respects everyone’s privacy preferences.

If you want to help or need more details, please message me directly. Thank you for reading, and for any support you can offer — whether that’s time, advice, sharing this message, or donating. It means the world to us.

Hey! I’m Lizzi, the owner of Violet Ivy Jewellery.

Named after my two beautiful Daughters, Ivy & Violet.

Violet Ivy was founded slowly in 2022 following a Cancer diagnosis.

When I was pregnant with my youngest child, Violet. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer in 2019. I was then later diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer in 2021.

Secondary Breast Cancer, also known as metastatic breast cancer is incurable and I live with this disease in most of bones. Unfortunately due to the pain and mobility issues, this saw me to be medically retired from my dream job.

With a family to support alongside my Husband, I had to continue working. It had to fit around my cancer treatment and family life.

With a life limiting disease I also needed to enjoy what I was doing….

AND I LOVE JEWELLERY!

I, along with many of you! We forever lust after quality jewellery that isn’t going to tarnish! Jewellery that was comfortable to wear everyday and importantly, comfy to sleep in!

I didn't want to take it off to shower, or when I was in a swimming pool with the children!

I wanted it to be ‘life’ proof or as I would say ‘Lizzi’ Proof!

Lizzi’s Story

That’s when Violet Ivy Jewellery was born. I want to bring you quality jewellery that can be worn every day, it is essential to choose pieces that not only complement your style but also stand the test of time. Selecting jewellery that won’t tarnish is key, ensuring your accessories remain as beautiful as the day you first wore them.

For those who prefer sterling silver, proper care is vital to maintain its shine and prevent tarnishing. Here are some tips to help you keep your sterling silver pieces looking gorgeous:

  1. Store Properly: Always store your jewellery in a cool, dry place. Use a soft pouch or a dedicated jewellery box lined with fabric to prevent scratches and tarnish.

  2. Avoid Moisture: Take off your jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising. Exposure to moisture can accelerate tarnishing.

  3. Clean Regularly: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe your silver jewellery after each wear. This will remove any oils, dirt, or moisture and keep it looking radiant.

  4. Polish with Care: If your jewellery starts to tarnish, you can use a silver polish cloth specifically designed for this purpose. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

  5. Keep Away from Chemicals: Be cautious of exposing your jewellery to perfumes, lotions, and household cleaners, as chemicals can lead to tarnishing.

By following these simple care tips, your sterling silver jewellery can maintain its sparkle and elegance, making it a delightful addition to your everyday wear.
